We are looking for individuals that are graduates of a Canadian accredited electrical, instrumentation, or process engineering technology or engineering programs. You must be prepared to certify or be in the process of certifying as a CET or P.Eng.
Training and experience with some or all of the following are considered assets:
– PLC Programming platforms including Rockwell ControlLogix and/or Modicon Unity based PLC Systems
– HMI configuration including FactoryTalk and/or Citect SCADA
– Experience with shutdown key, I/O list, database, and control narrative development.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Solid grasp of Word and Excel is a must).

BTI has an exciting opportunity to lead the automation scope for a large greenfield project! This is a crucial role in driving our automation initiatives and company growth.
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Discipline Lead with background and expertise in control systems design and implementation (DeltaV Live specifically). The role is responsible to lead, mentor, and manage the automation team in the design, configuration, and commissioning of the control system and OT network.

Key Responsibilities
As a senior team member, you will lead the charge in delivering innovative automation solutions by executing the following responsibilities:
Control System Design: Evaluate and determine the appropriate control system platform for industrial projects. Create documentation, such as functional design specifications and control narratives, for the control systems. Specify and select automation components, devices, and equipment based on project requirements, performance criteria, and industry standards. Configure physical and virtual servers for all types of applications.
Control System Implementation: Develop and maintain complex control programs and systems. Develop PLC and DCS programs using ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams, sequential flow charts, and instruction lists across multiple platforms. Configure RTU and SCADA systems. Troubleshoot and debug complex control systems. Perform code reviews and audits of complex systems. Lead internal verification testing and customer acceptance testing. Direct a commissioning team and participate in on-site commissioning.
In addition, the role requires you to demonstrate the following non-technical skills:
Technical Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior and intermediate engineers and technologists. Perform and lead design reviews. Direct and guide design discussions. Foster collaboration within the team.
Project Planning and Execution: Participate in project planning, scheduling, and execution activities with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions within budgetary constraints.
Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance future project delivery. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in control system technology. Develop, maintain, improve, and clarify programming processes and guidelines.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards.
Required Qualifications
The qualifications and aptitudes of the successful candidate include:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or Diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field.
-Extensive experience and expert competency with DeltaV system design and configuration, preferably DeltaV Live.
-Proven success leading project teams, specifically related to DeltaV systems or similar automation projects.
-A passion for automation technologies is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are viewed favorably:
Registered as a professional through APEGA (P.Eng., P.L.Eng.) or ASET (P.Tech.) with the authority to authenticate automation documents.
Experience

10+ years of experience in control system design and implementation for industrial facilities.
