Meet Our Leadership Team
Mike Gaccioli, P.E., PMP – Chief Executive Officer
Mike’s primary focus at Beta-Tech is process development, particularly in project execution. He has been with the company since 2011, initially leading the Project Management team before becoming a partner in 2013 and assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer. In late 2022, Mike was appointed Chief Executive Officer.
With over three decades of experience in engineering and project management, Mike has extensive knowledge in process development. He began his career with the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988, where he worked on aircraft instrument and electrical systems before retiring. He then worked as a consulting engineer in microelectronics and material handling in the USA for ten years before moving to Calgary in 2005. Since then, Mike has worked on various energy projects, including large oil-sands upgraders, SAGD facilities, control system migrations, and Middle Eastern pipelines.
Mike holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology and is a registered US Professional Engineer (P.E. Vermont). He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP) and an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). At Beta-Tech, he continues to support the cultivation of the company’s talented and high-performing team through process refinement and excellence in project execution.
Jason Boulet, P.Eng – President/Chief Operating Officer
Jason is an electrical Engineer with over 25 years of experience. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Manitoba as well as a M.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He has worked in small to medium sized automation consulting firms since he moved to Calgary at the start of his professional career in 1997. He started his career creating electrical design for pipeline facilities and continued expanding his knowledge to HMI and SCADA programing. He continued in his career with HMI and RTU programming for electric utilities and even performed electrical design for utilities. Following those various experiences and with a curiosity for more, Jason started into hardware design for DCS systems, soon becoming the Group Manager. In 2013 Jason joined the Beta-Tech Inc. team and has continued to develop and maintain Beta-Tech’s engineering process while supporting large and small projects. In 2022, with his energy for quality and integrity and vast experience he is now championing continuous improvement and facilitating operations as our Chief Operating Officer.
Tim Burr – Director of Human Resources
Tim joined the Beta-Tech Inc. (BTI) Team in 2011. As the Director of Human Resources, Tim works closely with the management team to source and hire quality people that align with our goals as a corporation. In addition to his HR duties, Tim is a Senior Project Manager, manager of the BTI Design/Drafting department, and supervisor of site construction, inspection, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Tim’s experience in the oil and gas sector began in 1982 in southern Saskatchewan as an EI&C contractor. From 1982 to 2001 he held many positions as a construction and maintenance contractor in Saskatchewan and Alberta. In 2001 Tim moved to Calgary as a design consultant working with a local engineering firm for 10 years prior to joining the BTI team.
Tim’s project experience has been in the Western Canada Oil and Gas sector, Alberta Carbon Capture and Pipeline, Egypt Heavy Oil, Albania Oil, Canola rail loading, crushing and processing.
